Sports visit to Northern Germany

25 to 27 October 2023 (Bremen and Hamburg)

Would you like to learn more about business opportunities in the sports industry in northern Germany? The NBSO Hamburg in cooperation with Hamburger Ding is organising an interactive sports visit to Bremen and Hamburg from 25 to 27 October under the banner of SportsNL. Are you a Dutch organisation active in sports? Then we cordially invite you to apply for this trip. Registration is possible until 6 October.

Purpose of the trip

The sports trip aims to give Dutch organisations the opportunity to establish contacts with potential partners/relationships in (Northern) Germany. In addition, we aim to create lasting connections between the German and Dutch sports industry. The Netherlands has strong expertise in digitalisation and sustainability, which is applicable both for sports infrastructure development and around sports events.

Germany and Sport

A lot is happening in the Sport field in (Northern) Germany. For instance, the city of Hamburg is very active in the field of sports with its so-called Active City Strategy. To further strengthen the infrastructure for sports facilities, the city has drawn up the Active City Master Plan. This aims to continuously improve and diversify the opportunities to be physically active in Hamburg.

UEFA EURO football will take place in Germany next year and Hamburg's Volkpark stadium is one of the playing venues. Moreover, many major sports events (Hamburg European Open, etc.) offer opportunities for Dutch organisations and entrepreneurs to cooperate with German companies, clubs, and sports organisations.

More information on business opportunities in the sports market in Germany can be found in the May 2023 report "Digital Landscape Analysis Germany " by Nielsen Sport. This report was commissioned by NBSO Hamburg and the Rijksdienst voor Ondernemend Nederland (RVO) and can be requested for Dutch organisations via the following link: Market Reports Europe request form.
